Baseball Recap: Foothill Tech Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Foothill Tech can now relate to. They fell just short of the Brentwood School Eagles by a score of 9-7 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragons have suffered since March 7th.

Shane White put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Davin Arth made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Cain Ebrahim was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Foothill Tech's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Brentwood School, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season.

Foothill Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brentwood School, they will square off against Trinity Classical Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
