With a playoff win on the line, Hayesville rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Swain County Maroon Devils with a sharp 9-2 win. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their 16th in a row.

Jackson Sellers was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Ben Bethel was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Hayesville's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Swain County, they moved to 10-10 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Hayesville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-8 defeat against Cornerstone Charter Academy on the 12th. Swain County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
