Baseball Game Preview: Hingham Harbormen vs. Norwell Clippers

The Hingham Harbormen will head out on the road to square off against the Norwell Clippers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hingham will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Hingham proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Billerica Memorial 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Harbormen have posted since April 21st.

Henry Healey looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Colman Donohue and Jack Carey did most of the damage at the plate: Donohue got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Carey went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits Carey has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Norwell's offense. They fell just short of Weymouth by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hingham's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Norwell, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Everything went Hingham's way against Norwell when the teams last played back in March, as Hingham made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Harbormen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
