Baseball Recap: Dalton Takes a Loss

Dalton was the 5-2 winner over Rittman when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-2 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly two runs.

Dalton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Rittman, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Dalton will head out to square off against David Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Rittman, they will head out on the road to take on Independence at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 4, the Blue Devils 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
