Softball Recap: Columbine Takes a Loss

Columbine was the 8-4 winner over Cherokee Trail when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels lost 9-1 to the Cougars on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered against the Cougars since September 13, 2016.

Columbine saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Keiter, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Keiter has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Columbine's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cherokee Trail, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Columbine will square off against Elizabeth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Cherokee Trail, they will take on Ponderosa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
