Basketball Game Preview: Lathrop Spartans vs. Johansen Vikings

Lathrop and Johansen are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Lathrop and ten for Johansen.

On Monday, Lathrop ended up a good deal behind Ceres and lost 51-36. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 264th).

Meanwhile, Johansen took a blow against Pacheco on Monday, falling 61-17.

Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Johansen, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Lathrop came out on top in a nail-biter against Johansen when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 50-47. Will Lathrop repeat their success, or does Johansen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
