Morse is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will challenge the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. Morse will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
While Morse's victory against Francis Parker wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lancers 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 23, 2024.

Alyssa Truby made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Okita, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Beyah Salvador, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Morse always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mission Bay's offense. They fell just short of Canyon Hills by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Buccaneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Morse's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Mission Bay, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.
Mission Bay's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Morse has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Mission Bay, though, as they've only averaged .339. Will they be able to contain Morse's hitters?
