Baseball Recap: Newton Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Newton kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Jackson County Panthers by a score of 8-7.

Newton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayce Yearwood, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton has already played their next matchup (against Walnut Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jackson County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against South Gwinnett.
