Soccer Game Preview: University vs. Palisades

University hasn't had much luck against Palisades recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. University has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for University's offense. They came up short against Venice on Monday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 894th, while Venice are ranked 103rd).

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Palisades and Westchester have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Dolphins never let the Comets get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for Palisades, who have now won six matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Palisades was without their leading scorer, Mechal Green, in Monday's matchup. With Green sidelined, the Dolphins had to make some changes to the lineup. And.

Palisades' victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

University might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Palisades when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
