Baseball Recap: Markesan Takes a Loss

Markesan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-4 to the Pecatonica Vikings.

Markesan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benton VandeBerg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Markesan's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Pecatonica, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Coincidentally, Markesan and Pecatonica will both be playing New Glarus the next time they take the field. The Hornets will host the Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
