Volleyball Recap: Weeki Wachee Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Weeki Wachee dropped to 14-10 on Tuesday, ending the team's seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Mitchell Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Marlee Schumacher paced Weeki Wachee's offense, picking up 16 kills. Schumacher got some help from Kendyl Eastin and her 19 assists. Schumacher was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Mitchell, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).

Mitchell had a senior duo take command as Taylor Perkins had five digs and three aces and Emma Hatzistefanou had 16 assists and three digs. Hatzistefanou has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played. Maddie Bruno also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Weeki Wachee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against River Ridge on the 9th. As for Mitchell, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Wesley Chapel on the 9th.
