Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Papillion-LaVista). They put the hurt on the Pius X Thunderbolts with a sharp  16-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Monarchs have won four matchups by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Kaylee Huffman was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Huffman was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Alexa Harms was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Drew Trofholz was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with four  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Papillion-LaVista  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post two or more  strikeouts.
Papillion-LaVista pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
