Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coal City). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-7 victory over the Herscher Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Coalers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

Coal City's record now sits at 7-1. As for Herscher, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Coal City is set to take on their familiar foe Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Coalers 9, the Wildcats 7.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Herscher will challenge rival Peotone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
