Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Centurions vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

The Cypress Centurions will take on the Los Alamitos Griffins in a tournament on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cypress will head into Wednesday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Mira Costa and fell 82-19. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Mustangs are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Los Alamitos didn't have quite enough to beat Beckman on Thursday and fell 53-51. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cypress moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Los Alamitos, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Cypress strolled past Los Alamitos in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 46-32. Does Cypress have another victory up their sleeve, or will Los Alamitos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
