Baseball Recap: Grovetown Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Grovetown's offense. They fell just short of the Newton Rams by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 last Monday.

Grovetown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Baker, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Grovetown dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Newton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

While Grovetown had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
