Baseball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Newton Rams

For the second straight game, Grovetown will face off against Newton. Grovetown will venture away from home to take on Newton at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

Grovetown lost 9-2 to Newton on Monday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Newton's part, Chris Guillory spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. Guillory has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dare'On Adkins was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jayce Yearwood was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Newton and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Grovetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
