Baseball Recap: Paulding County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Temple last Tuesday, Paulding County came back down to earth. The Paulding County Patriots took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osborne Cardinals on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 last Friday.

Liam Garrett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Paulding County dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Osborne, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Paulding County and Osborne could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Paulding County (ranked 310th) will meet Hillgrove (ranked 91st) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Osborne will square off against Brookwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 272 places (348 vs. 76).
