Ridgeland is 1-9 against Heritage since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ridgeland Panthers will host the Heritage Generals at 5:30 p.m. Ridgeland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Ridgeland will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Ridgeland's pitcher stepped up to hand Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Kaiden Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Koltin Webb was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Hunter Medrano was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Heritage sidestepped Gilmer for a 4-3 win.

Ridgeland's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Ridgeland suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Heritage when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Ridgeland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
