Baseball Recap: Bellingham Takes a Loss

Bellingham made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dover-Sherborn, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Payton Young was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Luke Proler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bellingham's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Dover-Sherborn, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.

Looking ahead, Bellingham will head out to take on Nipmuc Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dover-Sherborn, they will be playing at home against Sharon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
