Soccer Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton vs. Sequoia

The Menlo-Atherton Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Sequoia Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Menlo-Atherton will be strutting in after a victory while Sequoia will be coming in after a loss.

Menlo-Atherton's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Hillsdale. The result kept the Bears happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 9th.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, Sequoia was not quite Woodside's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Ravens have lost by just one goal.

Sequoia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-2 record this season. As for Menlo-Atherton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4-2 record this season.

Menlo-Atherton skirted past Sequoia 4-3 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Menlo-Atherton since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
