Volleyball Recap: Troy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Troy managed to slip by Clifton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Cubs on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Trojans have suffered since September 2nd.

Troy was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Skylar Workman paced Troy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Workman got some help from Aubree Brashear and her 17 assists. Finally, Shae Collier kept Troy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

The loss snapped Troy's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 18-10 record. As for Clifton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Troy will face off against rival Whitney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clifton is set to square off against their familiar foe McGregor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
