The Service Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Dimond Lynx at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Service knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Dimond likes a good challenge.
Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Eagle River, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Service was ranked second). The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Wolves on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Service got a massive performance out of Noah Cummings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Cummings a new career-high. Rilen Niclai was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Service always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dimond posted their closest victory since May 14, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Chugiak 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lynx.
Dimond secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Jaden Estigo, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Gase Faapouli also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Service's record now sits at 14-1. As for Dimond, their record is now 11-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Service has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dimond struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Service got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Dimond by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
