Basketball Recap: York County Tech's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak at Home

York County Tech came into Wednesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 36-30 win over the Fairfield Knights on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-33 on January 10th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead York County Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Atwater, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. What's more, Atwater also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Anna Foster was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

York County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They are 2-11 when they hit their own glass that hard.

York County Tech's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-17. As for Fairfield, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York County Tech will challenge Littlestown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairfield, they will venture away from home to challenge Delone Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
