With a playoff win on the line, Rector rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Brinkley Tigers by a score of 28-20. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 30-26 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Rector and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Brinkley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Rector will take on Woodlawn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Brinkley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
