Baseball Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

Sandy Creek and Calhoun squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sandy Creek had to settle for second. They came up short against the Yellow Jackets, falling 20-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Thursday.

Grant Housley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Sandy Creek and nudges their season record down to 21-13. As for Calhoun, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 29-5.

Sandy Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhoun, they have already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against Oconee County on the 7th.
