Volleyball Recap: Newton-Conover Takes a Loss

Newton-Conover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Maiden Blue Devils. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-5.

Whitney Spleet paced Newton-Conover's offense, picking up seven kills. Spleet got some help from Maria Starnes and her five assists.

Newton-Conover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Maiden, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Newton-Conover wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against East Lincoln on the 11th. As for Maiden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lincoln Charter on the 10th.
