Softball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Beats Millard West for Their Fourth Straight Win

Papillion-LaVista extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 4-1. Everything went their way against the Millard West Wildcats as they made off with a 12-1 win. Considering the Monarchs have won three matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylee Huffman spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexa Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Drew Trofholz was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Papillion-LaVista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard West only posted an OBP of .211.

Having lost for the first time this season, Millard West fell to 4-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

On Millard West's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Abboud, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
