Soccer Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Collins Hill Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gainesville of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

Gainesville's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Collins Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gainesville will welcome Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collins Hill, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Collins Hill face off against Mill Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
