Basketball Recap: San Pedro Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rancho Dominguez last Wednesday, San Pedro came back down to earth. The San Pedro Pirates took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Narbonne Gauchos on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gauchos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-40 back in January.

Despite the loss, San Pedro still got an impressive performance from Jayda Sanford, who posted 20 points. Sanford has become a key player for San Pedro: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least 15 points, but 5-15 otherwise.

San Pedro has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Narbonne, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Looking ahead, San Pedro will venture away from home to challenge Chavez at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Narbonne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
