Football Game Preview: Howard Wildcats vs. Mount Pleasant Green Knights

Howard has gone 7-1 against Mount Pleasant recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Green Knights at 12:00 p.m. One thing working in Howard's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Howard's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wilmington Friends 32-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 32 points or more this season.

Howard found their leader in sophomore Jameson Bryant, who rushed for 50 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 90 yards and a pair of TDs.

Howard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant got their first taste of in-conference action on Saturday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Tower Hill by a score of 28-21.

Howard's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Howard against Mount Pleasant in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 50-12 victory. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 42-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
