Volleyball Recap: Poudre Impalas vs. Windsor Wizards

Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windsor Wizards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wizards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Poudre started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-21.

Maggie Foster paced Poudre's offense, picking up ten kills. Foster got some help from Kathryn Rizza and her 13 assists. Finally, Addilyne Forest kept Poudre's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Windsor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hallie Burroughs, who had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Burroughs has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Smiley, who had 18 digs.

Poudre's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Windsor, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
