West Hall hadn't done well against Cherokee Bluff recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Spartans walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bears. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Bears on Friday, they had to take a 6-2 loss.

Marcus Pugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Barry Bulluck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Chase Berger, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

West Hall's record is now 10-17. As for Cherokee Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Coming up, West Hall will head out to challenge Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cherokee Bluff, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Lanier on the 14th.
