Baseball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 13-5 to the Cornerstone Prep Academy Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly eight runs.

Wheeler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vaden McCarty, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was James Behzadi, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wheeler's record now sits at 3-22. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeler will venture away from home to square off against North Cobb at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Cherokee Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
