Basketball Recap: Southwestern Academy Comes Up Short

Southwestern Academy lost against Glendale Adventist back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwestern Academy Sun had to suffer through a 61-23 loss at the hands of the Glendale Adventist Cougars. The Sun were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Despite the loss, Southwestern Academy still got an impressive performance from Valza Jusufi, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. Jusufi is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season.

Jazmine Climaco had an outrageously good game for Glendale Adventist as she almost dropped a triple-double on 31 points, nine boards, and 21 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Alegre, who posted nine points and eight steals.

Southwestern Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Glendale Adventist, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Southwestern Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-25 defeat against Le Lycee on the 4th. As for Glendale Adventist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-16 loss against St. Monica Academy on the 9th.
