            Softball Recap: Hazelwood East Spartans vs. McCluer North Stars        
        
		
        
        
            Hazelwood East extended their losing streak  to three  on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-6. They came up short against  the McCluer North Stars, falling  17-2. The  matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
 Hazelwood East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jamarre Thomas, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
As for McCluer North, their victory was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 8-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+  runs.
On McCluer North's side,  Amya Adams looked comfortable as she  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits (and not a single walk).
 At the plate,  Mia Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Lalia Flowers, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Hazelwood East will be playing at home against Bayless  at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. As for McCluer North, they will face off against Clayton at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday. The Stars will need to watch out since the Greyhounds have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last five games.
