Baseball Recap: Naples Triumphs

Naples proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Red Jacket Indians 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Big Green Machines have posted since April 14th.

Naples let Ollie Bruen and James Haremza run wild. Bruen went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Haremza got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Haremza a new career-high. Rowan Biggs was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Naples' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8. As for Red Jacket, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Red Jacket, they will challenge Whitman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
