Baseball Recap: Yarmouth Takes a Loss

Yarmouth entered their contest against Fryeburg on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Clippers came up short against the Raiders, falling 12-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Tyler Emerson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two doubles.

Yarmouth's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Fryeburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yarmouth will face off against York at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Fryeburg, they will square off against Cape Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Capers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
