Baseball Recap: Midtown Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson, Midtown was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the M.L. King Lions 4-3. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Henry Carter looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Midtown let Charlie Frederick and Lyndon Wiilliams run wild. Frederick went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI, while Wiilliams went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That triple was Frederick's first of the season.

Midtown moved to 11-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for M.L. King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Midtown will have a chance to go back-to-back against M.L. King: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
