Soccer Game Preview: Crossroads vs. Windward

Crossroads hasn't had much luck against Windward recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crossroads Roadrunners will welcome the Windward Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Crossroads is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Brentwood School on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Eagles are ranked 73rd).

Meanwhile, Windward waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Patriots out 3-2. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one goal.

Zoe Richman and Kennedy Richard scored all three of Windward's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Windward is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those six matchups. As for Crossroads, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1.
