Baseball Game Preview: Whitko Wildcats vs. Peru Tigers

Whitko is 2-7 against Peru since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wildcats will take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Rochester hit Whitko with a six-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zebras.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Peru lost 7-1 to Northwestern. The game marked Peru's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Reis Bellar made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Whitko's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Peru, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Whitko suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Peru in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
