While Monroe Central's win against Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday. The Golden Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.

Monroe Central wouldn't go down easily and took Union into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 24-26, 15-8.

Hadley Hendrickson paced Monroe Central's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hendrickson got some help from Bentley Pegg and her 48 assists. Addilynn Grove controlled things from the service line, finishing with 12 aces.

Monroe Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Union, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe Central will challenge Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Union and Tri will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
