The Cowanesque Valley Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to North Penn-Mansfield on the road by a decisive 36-21 margin. Cowanesque Valley has struggled against North Penn-Mansfield recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
North Penn-Mansfield found their leader in underclassman Kameron Lightner, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was McKenna Lightner, who scored six points along with three steals.
Cowanesque Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Penn-Mansfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. North Penn-Mansfield will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Odessa-Montour at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
