Basketball Recap: Berwick Comes Up Short

Berwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Hazleton Area Cougars 87-42. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-23 last Saturday.

Despite the loss, Berwick saw an underclassman step up: freshman Abby Calarco went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points. Carly Post was another key player, putting up ten points.

Berwick's record now sits at 2-16. As for Hazleton Area, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0.

Berwick has already played their next game (against Dallas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hazleton Area has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Pittston.
