Volleyball Recap: Pius X Thunderbolts vs. Seward Bluejays

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norris, Pius X was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Seward Bluejays.

Pius X never let Seward on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Emilia Reiling went supernova for Pius X, getting 20 digs. Reiling is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last 24 games she's played. Ava Markowski was another key player, getting ten digs, four kills, three blocks, and two aces.

Seward lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abby Covalt, who had 18 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Dominy, who had three digs and 15 assists.

Pius X's record is now 16-24. As for Seward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-7.

Pius X will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Norris at 9:00 a.m. Norris will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Pius X surely won't give up without a fight. Seward does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
