Soccer Game Preview: Islands vs. Calhoun

The Islands Sharks will take on the Calhoun Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Islands is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Savannah Country Day just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Hornets who were credited with the victory. Savannah Country Day got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Islands' three.

Calhoun is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Rome on Thursday. They came up short against Wolves, falling 3-0. Calhoun have struggled against Rome recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Islands, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
