Aurora took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Gering, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since September 26, 2024.

Josie Fink tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Aurora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Brei, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Aurora now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gering, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Aurora has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Malcolm on the 22nd. As for Gering, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Norris on the 22nd.
