Basketball Recap: William Penn Takes a Loss

William Penn lost against Red Lion back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The William Penn Bearcats fell just short of the Red Lion Lions by a score of 36-33. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Lions are ranked 19th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Lion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bekah Sedora, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Sedora has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who earned nine points.

William Penn's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Red Lion, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing New Oxford the next time they take the court. Red Lion will host New Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while William Penn will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
