Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. American

Kennedy has won four straight games at home, while American has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Kennedy Titans will welcome the American Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kennedy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Mission San Jose as Kennedy made off with an 11-0 victory. It was an even better day for Lily Bella as she scored four goals for her team.

Meanwhile, American's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Everything went their way against Newark Memorial as American made off with a 3-0 win.

American used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Newark Memorial. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Kai'A Tom (80), Hailey Nguyen (80), and Yaalini Gokul (80). The trio had averaged 53.3, 52.3, and 31.8 minutes respectively before Tuesday's game. Gokul made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

American has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season.
