Basketball Recap: Kinzie Turner Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Minarets hadn't done well against Fowler recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Minarets Mustangs skirted past the Fowler Redcats 44-41. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 50-18 loss the last time these two teams met.

Minarets got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kinzie Turner out in front who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaphara Bryon-Hamilton, who earned eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Minarets and bumps their season record up to 3-10. As for Fowler, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minarets will challenge Sierra at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fowler, they will venture away from home to challenge Yosemite at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Fowler has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
