Lafayette Christian came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Central Georgia Arts a 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Saturday.

Lafayette Christian's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landon Childree, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lafayette Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Central Georgia Arts, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Georgia Arts, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Westfield School at 5:00 p.m.
